Royal Caribbean’s next 168,666-ton Quantum-class cruise ship Ovation of the Seas was floated out of Meyer Werft’s covered building dock II on Thursday.
Photo credit: Meyer WerftThe cruise ship has been under construction at the yard in Papenburg, Germany for just 18 months and recently has undergone extensive tests, interior work and machinery trials. The cruise ship will now undergo more testing that will be carried out in the harbor alongside the yard’s outfitting pier.
Photo credit: Meyer WerftOvation of the Seas is the third ship in Royal Caribbean’s Quantum class, following sister ship’s Quantum of the Seas and the now infamous Anthem of the Seas, which recently made headlines after it rode out a major hurricane-force during a voyage off the U.S. East Coast.
